Natural Killer Cell Therapy
What is NK Therapy?
NK (Natural Killer) cell therapy is a type of treatment that uses the body's own natural defense system to fight cancer. Natural Killer cells are a special type of white blood cell that plays a crucial role in your immune system. They're like your body's first responders, always on the lookout for abnormal cells, including cancer cells.
How does it work?
When your immune system detects a threat like cancer cells, NK cells kick into action. They target and destroy these abnormal cells, helping to prevent them from spreading and causing harm. However, sometimes cancer cells can evade detection or overwhelm the immune system.
That's where NK cell therapy comes in. Our scientists isolate NK cells from a healthy donor, or even amplify the patient's own NK cells in our laboratory. These supercharged NK cells are then infused back into the patient's body, where they can better target and attack the cancer cells.
History of NK Cells?
NK cell therapy has been in development for several decades, but recent advancements in technology and understanding of the immune system have made it a cutting-edge treatment option for certain types of cancer
